October 29, 4 p.m.: Blaine Police received a report of someone that had tried to break into a change machine at a marina. An officer arrived and documented the incident. It appears the lock held up and actually broke the suspect’s drill bit. No money was taken, but $65 worth of damage was done to the change machine.
November 4, 3:54 p.m.: Police were called to a residence when concerns arose regarding the custody of an infant there. The arriving officers investigated and found there were no court orders in place that restricted the parental rights of the child.
November 6, 11:27 a.m.: A car transport service called police to report a vehicle they were scheduled to pick up in Blaine was missing from its parking location. Officers responded to investigate, and found video surveillance recordings at the business where the auto was stored had captured the theft. The owner of the vehicle completed a stolen property report and information on the newly restored 1955 Chevrolet pickup was entered into state and national data systems. Investigation is ongoing.
November 6, 5:35 p.m.: A victim reporting that a storage unit he rents at a facility in Blaine had been burglarized called police. Approximately $70,000 in vintage wine was stolen in the theft. Officers are investigating.
November 7, 8:15 a.m.: Police were dispatched to a mini storage facility when managers there observed possible suspects from recent burglaries at the site. Officers checked the area and contacted and interviewed two people who were tenants of the business. No signs of criminal activity were observed.
November 7, 10:05 a.m.: Customs and Border Protection at the Peace Arch port of entry called police to report that a traveler entering the U.S. was in violation of a domestic violence protection order as the protected person was with him in the vehicle. A Blaine officer responded and confirmed the order was valid. He arrested the violator and booked him into jail.
November 8, 3:04 p.m.: Dispatch reported a monitoring company had called advising an alarm had been activated at a business. An officer arrived and checked the exterior of the building. Everything was secure and there were no signs of criminal activity. No call-out was available to respond.
November 8, 3:20 p.m.: Police responded to a residence to assist when a person there began hearing voices telling him to kill his family, friends and himself. The victim was very frightened and asking for help. Officers transported him to mental health professionals.
November 9, 10 a.m.: A person renting space at a facility in Blaine called police to report that someone broke into his storage unit and stole some of the unit’s contents. The burglary and theft are under investigation.
November 9, 2:11 p.m.: Police responded to a report that a teenager was being contacted by a person who was communicating with her for immoral purposes via social media. The case is under investigation.
November 9, 2:20 p.m.: The Police department provided assistance to city Hhall staff working on public nuisance code violations at certain residential and commercial properties in the city.
